Speakers

Chuck Chase, CFM

Chuck Chase is the Floodplain Outreach Coordinator for the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources and a Certified Floodplain Manager. Chuck presents training and outreach programs helping local communities implement the National Flood Insurance Program. Chuck is a retired Coast Guard Chief and formerly a Nebraska Emergency Management Agency Exercise  Training Officer. Chuck has a BS in Education (go Peru Bobcats), an MS in Quality Systems Management, and is a member of the State of Nebraska Speakers Bureau. Chuck enjoys meeting new people and getting to know their communities.

Elijah Kaufman, CFM

Elijah Kaufman is the Outreach and CRS Coordinator for the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources Floodplain Management Division and is a Certified Floodplain Manager. Elijah presents training & outreach programs that help local communities implement the National Flood Insurance Program and Community Rating System. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2019 with a BA in Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness. For NeDNR, he serves as a point of contact for Nebraska’s floodplain administrators and the public, providing technical support toward NFIP compliance and flood insurance. He also assists communities in responding to disasters, updating local floodplain ordinances, and giving monthly training to floodplain officials in Nebraska.

AnnMarie Marlier, PhD

AnnMarie Marlier serves as the Executive Director of the Business Ethics Alliance. She has over 20 years of experience as an accomplished leader, administrator, talent developer, program/curriculum developer, and teacher/facilitator in face-to-face, hybrid, blended, and e-learning modalities for postsecondary, not-for-profit, and corporate organizations.

AnnMarie is a graduate of Leadership Nebraska and volunteers for several organizations, including as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative.

She has a doctorate in Urban Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a minor in Business Administration. AnnMarie holds a Master of Education in Adult Education from Carroll University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications, Media, and Theatre from St. Norbert College.
