SPEAKERS

Joe Sather
Surveyor/GIS Technician
JEO Consulting Group Inc.

Joe Sather is a Nebraska registered land surveyor
and works out of JEO’s Wahoo office. He is currently
serving as Past-president for the Nebraska GIS/
LIS Association.  Joe is always looking for ways
to integrate GIS workflows into Surveying and
Engineering projects, and to educate GIS users of the
value surveyors can bring to their projects.

Casey Sherlock
State Surveyor

Casey Sherlock is currently a resident of Lincoln,
Nebraska. Casey earned a Bachelor of Science Degree
with a comprehensive major in Mathematics from
Chadron State College in 1999. He was Elected Hall
County Surveyor for three consecutive 4-year terms of
office beginning in 2005. Casey was appointed by the
Nebraska Board of Educational Lands and Funds as
Nebraska’s eighth State Surveyor on January 1, 2018
and serves as Ex-officio Secretary of the Nebraska
Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors.

Charlie Ramsbottom
A&D Technical Supply

Originating from Missouri, Charlie’s background
consists of surveying, construction, and customer
service. He acquired a Master’s degree in Engineering
Management Technology and a Bachelors of Science
in Construction Engineering Technology from Missouri
Western State University. In 2001, Charlie began a
career in surveying with the Missouri Department
of Transportation where he gained a combined 25+
years of experience and education in surveying and
construction.
In 2017, Charlie altered his career path, staying within
the surveying and construction field, and took on a
position with A&D Technical Supply in Omaha, NE as a
geomatics sales consultant. Since this change, Charlie
continues to stay in tune with the latest surveying and
construction technology the profession has to offer,
but more importantly, building strong relationships
with present and future clients.

Tom has an international background as a military
brat living everywhere from Guam to Italty. He came
to Nebraska in 1995 and attended ITT for Computer
Aided Drafting. He started working at LRA in 1999 as
a Design Drafter and now serves as the firm’s CAD
Manager.


Mike DeBoer
GIS Specialist
Lamp Rynearson & Associates, Inc.

While studying at the University of Nebraska Omaha,
Mike DeBoer found a passion for Geographic
Information Systems (GIS). After graduating, Mike
started his GIS career in Local Government and
transitioned to the private sector working for ESRI,
the largest GIS software company. The public
and private work enhanced his education and
understanding of GIS. Mike has focused his GIS
career on Site Analysis, Drone Imagery, Data Analysis,
and creating GIS Web Mapping Applications. Mike
also works as an adjunct teacher at Metro Community
College teaching ‘Fundamentals of ArcGIS’ in the
Construction Education program.


Dan Kahm
A&D Technical Supply
Career Fair

Dan is a native Nebraskan, a UNL graduate, and has
spent a large part of his career working in the land
surveying profession in technical consulting with
customers for product selection, training, and support.
Working mostly within the Surveying, Civil Engineering,
and Construction industries, Dan has developed
extensive experience with Total Stations (Robotic/
Imaging) and GPS and in recent years he’s worked with
high definition scanning, GIS, and reference station
networks to further production capacity, workflows,
and project profitability.

SPEAKERS

Carey Grell
Environmental Analyst Supervisor Planning and Programming Division Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. As a current member of the environmental review team at NGPC, Carey reviews projects with a state or federal permit or funding and works with project proponents to avoid impacts to state-listed endangered and threatened species and other resources of NGPC concern. A University of Nebraska graduate with a degree in Natural Resources, she previously worked as a temporary employee with NGPC in the Nongame Bird Program monitoring endangered and threatened bird species.

Belinda Fowler
Environmental Assistance Coordinator Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. A lifelong Nebraskan, Belinda has lived and worked in communities across the state. In April, she began working at the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality as their Environmental Assistance Coordinator, developing a Permit Matrix tool to identify permitting needs by industry sectors in Nebraska. Previously she has worked for NDOR, as an EHSS Manager, as an independent business owner, and as an environmental, health, safety and DOT regulatory consultant. She has her Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning and holds a Bachelor of Science from Wayne State College.

Chuck Chase
Floodplain Outreach Coordinator Nebraska Department of Natural Resources. As the Floodplain Outreach Coordinator, Chuck schedules training and outreach programs and helps local communities through information sharing visits. Chuck is a retired Coast Guard Chief and former Exercise Training Officer for the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. He is a board member for the Nebraska Floodplain and Storm Water Manager’s Association. Chuck has a B.S. in Education and M.S. in Quality Systems Management and is a Certified Floodplain Manager.

Time permitting, Steve will discuss the 25 zone design to be submitted to NGS as part of the upcoming 2022 Nebraska State Plane Coordinate System.

Lon has been an American Family agent for over 27 years and offers business, home, auto, life as well as other insurance products. He has been an AFLIC 5 time award recipient.

Ryan Wynne
Marketing Specialist - American Family

Ryan has a sales and marketing background and has been awarded the Sales Specialist Award in November of 2015, January of 2016 and February of 2016.
