TOPICS

Southeast Community College - Programs, Requirements, Future
Dr. Dennis Headrick, VP for Instruction, and Glenn Pasho, Dean of Construction, will discuss the current state of the land surveying program at Southeast Community College and plans for the direction of the program in the future. 


The Future of Manpower and Recruiting
Mike Caniglia, LS-644, will present and encourage discussion of on-the- job education in land surveying for staff and how to motivate those interested to become registered. Seminar attendees with on-the-job, in-house educational experience are invited to participate.

Dr. Dennis Headrick, SCC
Vice President for Instruction

Dennis has been with Southeast Community College for 27 years, serving as the Assistant
Campus Director and Campus Director for the Beatrice Campus. For the past 22 years as the
VP for Instruction, he has supervised all credit and non-credit programs and industry training.

Glenn Pasho, SCC
Dean of Construction

Glenn has been with Southeast Community College for 35 years as an instructor, as the program chair for Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology, and for the past four years as Dean.

Michael Caniglia, TD2
LS-644

Mike is a registered land surveyor and has been with Thompson, Dreessen & Dorner, Inc. (TD2) for 19 years. He was registered in 2005 and runs one of TD2’s seven crews as Crew Chief.

Tom has been with the Lancaster Planning Department for 16 years, two as the County Planner and before that as the planner for North Lincoln. He previously worked for Ross Engineering.

Linda Little, Nebraska Land Title & Abstract

Linda is a registered abstractor and licensed title agent in the State of Nebraska. She is employed by Nebraska Land Title & Abstract and has been located in the Wahoo office for the last nine years. Previously she worked at Hamilton & Johnson, a division of Title Services of the Plains, for ten years as a title agent and for the Saunders County Assessor as Deputy Assessor for five years.

SPEAKERS

Ed McCaffery, Regional Manager with Topcon/IntelUAS

Ed is the Topcon/Intel UAS regional manager for North and Latin America. Ed has vast UAS knowledge and experience working with a wide range of companies and industries including a variety of DOTs, mining and energy companies, EA sports, the World Wildlife Fund and the PGA. 


Ed has over 11 years of experience in the survey and construction business. Ed's favorite part of his job is showing others how to incorporate emerging technologies into their workflow to increase efficiency and profitability.

SPEAKERS

Chuck Chase, Floodplain Outreach Coordinator, DNR

Chuck Chase is the Floodplain Outreach Coordinator for the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources. Chuck schedules training and outreach programs and helps local communities through information sharing visits such as CAVs and CACs.


Chuck is a retired Coast Guard Chief and formerly an Exercise Training Officer for the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. He is on the board for the Nebraska Floodplain and Stormwater Manager's Association.

Chuck has a BS in Education, a MS in Quality Systems Management and is a Certified Floodplain Manager. Chuck's favorite part of his job is meeting with floodplain administrators and getting to know them and their communities.
