David J. Doering
Graduated from Beatrice High School in May 1977.
Graduated from SCC Fairbury in May 1979.
Worked as Maintenance of Way for Union Pacific Railroad from May 1979 to October 1981.
Graduated from the Surveying and Drafting Program at SCC Milford in December 1986.
After graduation, I worked at HWS and Ross Engineering before returning to Beatrice. Working at Wehling Engineers in Beatrice from 1987 to 2007.
I received my SIT in July 1994 and my LS in July 1995.
I have been working at Land Survey Tech in Beatrice since 2007.
My wife has been employed by Beatrice Public Schools since 1987. My wife and I have one daughter, Natalie, age 25, who graduated from Iowa Western Community College in 2021 and is currently a Registered Dental Hygienist in Beatrice.
My spare time is spent photographing railroad subjects, collecting railroad memorabilia, and entertaining our 10-month-old Golden Retriever Autumn.
Jerry Penry -
Jerry Penry grew up in rural northern Nebraska near the town of Atkinson. He graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford in 1985 in the Surveying and Drafting program. Then, he worked for 13 years for several private engineering companies in Lincoln. He then worked for Lancaster County Engineering for 24 years, managing the survey division in both the field and the office. In 2021, he became a Deputy State Surveyor. He began working at the Nebraska State Surveyor’s office, where he is presently employed. Jerry became a Registered
Land Surveyor in Nebraska in 1994 and South Dakota in 2012. He has authored many articles on surveying, presented seminars in several states as a conference speaker, and led remonumentation projects across the state.
