Jim Richardson is a state geodetic advisor (http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/INFO/OnePagers/StateAdvisor.pdf), which is a job that is intended to provide assistance to all professionals involved in geospatial activities which rely on the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) (http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/INFO/OnePagers/NSRSOnePager.pdf). The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) is responsible for maintaining and facilitating access to the NSRS with products and services such as standards and guidelines to ensure consistency in geospatial products such as control surveys and mapping products. Jim is a graduate of Penn State University and began surveying in 1976.
