Speakers

Casey Sherlock, LS - Nebraska State Surveyor

Casey Sherlock is the Nebraska State Surveyor and resident of Lincoln, Nebraska. Casey’s been a registered Nebraska professional land surveyor for 20 years and the Nebraska State Surveyor for six years. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a comprehensive major in Mathematics from Chadron State College in 1999. He was Elected Hall County Surveyor for three consecutive 4-year terms of office beginning in 2005. Casey was appointed by the Nebraska Board of Educational Lands and Funds as Nebraska’s eighth State Surveyor on January 1, 2018, and serves as Ex-officio Secretary of the Nebraska Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors.

Dylan Campbell, LS - Instructor, Southeast Community College

Dylan Campbell is a registered land surveyor since 2020 and a Southeast Community College (SCC) instructor. He also provides technical support for TransitWorks. He earned his Associate of Applied Science in Land Surveying and Civil Engineering Technology from SCC.

He began his career at the Nebraska Department of Transportation, where he developed a deep understanding of boundary surveying, engineering surveying, and the application of UAV technology in aerial surveying.

Actively involved in emerging surveying technologies, he has a Part107 License as a UAV pilot and created a specialized class in aerial surveying at SCC, providing students with practical drone usage skills, facilitating their attainment of Part107 licenses, and preparing them for the Fundamentals of Surveying Exam before graduation.

Currently the Chair of the PSAN Education Committee, Dylan is enthusiastic about the future of the surveying profession and preparing future surveyors.
